In early March, LG debuted its Inspiration Gallery at South by Southwest (SXSW) as a preview for the company's upcoming launches. And throughout the 5-day event—which kicked off March 8—LG unveiled a prototype for one of its most innovative products yet: the SnowWhite dessert maker. Which, yep, is basically a Keurig for ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet, and gelato. Soon you'll have the technology to conveniently whip up a few at-home scoops anytime the craving strikes.
Unfortunately for us all, it's in the early stages of development. LG premiered a non-working version of the product at SXSW. However, if the SnowWhite does in fact become a reality, the system will use pod flavors to create the creamy frozen desserts. Sounds like a fairytale, no?
According to the press release, the Austin-based festival and conference was the obvious spot to premiere the prototype. South by Southwest, where the creative and technology communities converge, is like a giant focus group testbed for new products, ideas, and concepts, senior vice president and head of LG New Business Center, Chul B. Lee said. LG's participation at SXSW is the embodiment of our ambition for open innovation and our drive to continue breaking new ground.
